Why We Exist
FOR THE LAST THREE GENERATIONS THE SUCCESS OF WEATHERBY HAS BEEN DUE TO THE FAMILY THAT IT HAS CREATED. EVERY EMPLOYEE AND CUSTOMER HAS PLAYED A PART IN WHERE WE ARE TODAY.
As father and son we have had some amazing opportunities to hunt together throughout the world. This past year we experienced one such event that stood out from the rest. A trip to Kansas looking for Whitetail Deer that took us to the exact location where our company’s founder started exploring the outdoors nearly 100 years ago. It was there, walking along the same creek bed Roy Weatherby had explored while growing up that we were reminded of the heritage that exists with our family name. As we re-traced the footsteps of his childhood, we felt blessed to be a part of this family and the brand it carries. It is something we don’t take lightly.
We were reminded of the sacrifices that were made to launch Weatherby as we also walked the farm that was formerly owned by the first lady of Weatherby, Camilla. She sold the property in order to help fund Roy’s passion to make “Tomorrow’s Firearms Today”. This is one of the reasons we are so excited about the introduction of the rifle featured on the cover of this year’s catalog. The new Weatherby “Camilla”, designed by women and built by Weatherby. The fit and function is consistent with the Weatherby name and a great way to honor Camilla and her tireless support of her husband’s ingenuity and passion.
For the last three generations the success of Weatherby has been due to the family that it has created. Every employee and customer has played a part in where we are today. Much of what we do is based on sharing for future generations. Whether it’s handing down a Mark V as an heirloom, helping with a youth hunt, or volunteering with one of our local conservation groups, keeping the tradition and heritage of hunting is vital to the natural resources that we all know and love. Whether it is Roy, Ed or Adam our goal remains the same; to inspire the dreams of hunters and shooters.
Wishing you safe shooting,
