Performance
Top Lever Actuated Automatic Sliding Safety (except Orion D’Italia SC) with Integrated Barrel Selector — Safety automatically engages when top lever is actuated to open breech, providing an extra measure of safety. Barrel selector lets you choose which barrel (top/bottom) fires first. Provides ease of use and instant visibility of barrel selection.
Automatic Ejectors — Discharge spent shells when receiver is opened. Unfired shells are raised slightly for easy extraction.
Monobloc Barrel Construction — Narrower and lower in profile for lightweight performance, superior balance and a livelier feel.
Vented Mid and Top Ribs — Keeps things cool when the action heats up. Matte top rib reduces glare to promote fast target acquisition and superior pointability. Improved shooter performance.
Snug Hinges — The hinge action of the D'Italia is honed snug and tight to limit the potential for increased headspace under high volume shooting. Provides year after year of dependable use.
Heavy-Duty Firing Pin Springs — Constructed of high-tensile piano wire for extra durability and dependability over years of high volume use.
Single Inertia Trigger — Firing action/recoil from first barrel instantly resets trigger for second barrel. Gold-plated for corrosion protection (does not apply to Athena® D'Italia V).
Chrome-Lined Barrels and Lengthened Forcing Cones — Built to withstand the wear and tear of heavy use. Lengthened forcing cones work to improve patterns while reducing recoil to curb shooter fatigue.
Top Lever Actuated Automatic Safety — All D'Italia Over/Under field shotguns feature an easy-to-use sliding safety located directly behind the top lever. Safety automatically engages when top lever is actuated to open the breech (except Orion D'Italia SC). Also operates manually by sliding backward/forward to engage/disengage. Features an integrated barrel selector that allows you to choose which barrel fires first. Both sides are textured for more positive operation.
Patented Four-lock Action — Previously available only on selected 12-gauge guns, the unique four-lock system is now available on true 20-guage and 28-gauge frames. A Weatherby exclusive! Creates four points of engagement between the receiver and barrels for a rock-solid lockup. The shallower and thinner profile offers lighter weight and better balance without sacrificing durability. Other custom touches include sculpted frameheads and fancy engraved top levers for a rich and distinct look.
