Three Rings of Steel — the cartridge case head is encased in three rings of steel for greater safety. The recessed bolt face is surrounded by the barrel, which is surrounded by the forged and machined steel receiver, creating an extra measure of safety.
Floorplate/Triggerguard Assembly — all Weatherby Mark V rifles feature a one-piece alloy triggerguard frame. Floorplate assembly is engraved with a flying “W” monogram. This is just one of the many custom touches you get with every Weatherby Mark V rifle.
The One-piece Forged Bolt — provides maximum strength and structural integrity. Longitudinal flutes reduce weight and bearing surface area, while minimizing binding for smooth operation and action. Nine locking lugs deliver a 54-degree bolt lift — the shortest in the industry. Faster chambering on follow-up shots and greater bolt-to-scope clearance for fewer battered knuckles.
Positive Cartridge Extraction — extracts and ejects the fired case without the need for full bolt retraction.
