Description

Details

I have dropped Cape Buffalo bearing down at close range, quieting the fierce intent in their ornery eyes. I have reached out hundreds of yards to find the hearts of 600-pound Grizzlies. I am as dangerous as my name implies, with a drop-box magazine and cartridge capacity that doubles a side-by-side’s payload (just in case). Whether you aim with my iron sights or through a premium scope, I will do as I’m told and become your best friend in dangerous places.

  1. Phenomenal

    By Dr.Mark August 14, 2018

200 meters, and still sub-MOA with a five shot group of .812! This is a bench sight-in using my Caldwell Fire Control Lead-Sled, and a Leupold Mark 8 1.1-8x24mm. .375 330gr single feed match tactical hunting round (lead free, solid copper projectile only, hand loaded). At 100 meters, I placed 3 rounds through virtually the same hole. I am incredulous. My .338WM doesn't perform this well.

  2. Another Fine Weatherby

    By J. Shelton March 01, 2018

.416 Weatherby Magnum DGR. 0.629 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards and at 2630 fps. That's over 6,000 foot pounds of energy and under 1 MOA. Do I really need to say more?

  3. Elk and American Bison hunt.

    By Joel F. December 16, 2017

In 2016 I took my massive American Bison with one shot from my 338-378 Weatherby Magnum at 110 yards. This year in 2017, I took my very first Elk with one shot from my 300 Weatherby Magnum at 145 yards. Next year in 2018, I will hunt Mule Deer and Antelope with my 30-378 Weatherby Magnum. My 460 Weatherby Magnum will be taken out of the safe in a near future big game hunt, I am sure.

  4. An Extraordinary Firearm.

    By Tuxedoparkdog June 11, 2017

I have purchased several Weatherby firearms, but this is my first one from the Custom Shop, in Mark V, and with a very large bore--a Trifecta. I bought this DGR in 460 Wby Mag and could not be more pleased with it. Fit and finish are as expected. Accuracy is outstanding. However, what is most appealing about this rifle is shootability. In 460 Weatherby mag, you say? Yes, absolutely. The massive 460 case capacity lets the handloader (or a person with access to one) create a variety of loads. So far, I have created loads comparable to a 458 Win Mag, and a 470 NE. Of course, you can also go with the full house 460 Mags. Incredibly, the Accubrake keeps recoil surprising low, almost pleasant for a 458 Win Mag comp. I recommend that you get one of these rifles, as it is like buying several calibers at once.

Also, the iron sights and extra magazine capacity are nice for going after big, nasty critters in Africa.

  5. Five Stars
