Couldn't Ask for Anything Better
I have wanted a Weatherby ever since I was a kid. It only took 35 years for me to fulfill my dream with my Mark V Accumark left-hand in 257 Weatherby Mag. I just returned from my pronghorn hunt in Wyoming. I bagged a beautiful 14 inch buck with a head-on shot at 200 yards. I prepared for a broadside shot all summer. But I had the confidence to take the head-on chest shot because I knew the rifle would put the shot where it had to go. I've seen knuckleheads with massive caliber rifles hit pronghorn and the animal runs for 50 or 100 yards. My buck dropped like a ton of bricks for the most humane kill I've ever had. The bolt with the 9 lugs is the most solid action I've found on the market. At the end of the day I love the rifle, the rock solid construction and craftsmanship, and the confidence it gives me to take down game with a shot I need to make.
Best rifle I own
Bought this rifle in 300 wby and two boxes of weatherby ammo put the scope on went out and sighted it in shot under 1" easy I thought it would have more kick then it did easy to shoot went elk hunting it was very nice to carry with the new improvements they did to the stock great looking rifle very solid weatherby shows everyone else how rifles should be built thank you weatherby I won't buy anything but weatherby
The Mark V Accumark
The Mark V Accumark 340 MAG is the best hunting rifle I have ever owned. I bought her in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1995, and since, she has been my primary medium to big game hunting rifle. Being a re-loader, I am able to adjust the rounds to suit the game I am hunting from Boar in the lower 48 to Grizzly in Alaska.
Of all the hunting rifles I have ever owned, the Mark V Accumark has been the most accurate and reliable hunting rifle regardless of weather conditions or traversing harsh unforgiving terrain… she has never failed me!
Surprisingly, the Mark V Accumark is extremely light weight for such a large caliber. When I ordered her, I had the store gunsmith add two changes; replace the rifle shoulder stock pad and add a muzzle brake. With these two changes she shot smoother than my 30-06.
My second best hunting rifle is my trusting Weatherby vanguard chambered in 300 MAG.
I bought my wby 270 wby magnum and it is a tack driver. Always wanted a weatherby and I put a leupold VX3 LRP 8.5x25x50 on it. If you can see it, you can kill it.
This is my first Weatherby. I went with the 7mm wby mag because I’m impressed with the ballistics. Love the flat trajectory. I mounted a Vortex 4x16x50 Viper hs on a near manufacturing picatinny rail. All I can say is WOW! What a beautiful rifle. The design and construction are simply outstanding. It felt great in my hands. Love the fit of the Monte Carlo stock. Grabbed a box of Weatherby 150gr Nosler ballistic tips and took it straight to the range. Sub MOA? No doubt about it. I’m just a casual shooter. Not a hard core guy at all. The action was smooth. The trigger was very impressive. I’m happy with the factory setting. Had the scope dialed in and put the last three inside an inch within 10 shots. Ready for the Wisconsin whitetail season. I’ve got a stand overlooking a marsh 350 yards deep. I’m confident this rifle will cover every inch to the far tree line. Any miss will be totally my fault. I’m thrilled to be a proud new Weatherby owner.
